Historical reference only : Current Range of Reels
There are two main variations in the current range, the Jet and the Truepin Trotter.
The Jet
This is the latest derivation of Fred's "classic" near-replica of the Match Aerial. Named the Jet as it's jet-black, this reel has a 4½" diameter drum, and a flat-bladed ratchet knob on the rear plate. Earlier models had a crinkly backplate, were painted then powder-coated, and had brass and nickel-plated parts, and the pin itself was steel..
Currently the Jet is black anodise, component parts are nickel-silver and the pin itself is stainless steel. The reel-foot assembly is brass and chrome-plated.
The Truepin Trotter Range
Current models have a choice of either 3¾" drum, ratchet lever on rim, available only in black (anodised), but NO drag mechanism.
or 4½" drum, ratchet lever on rim, available only in black (anodised), but with drag mechanism.
Effectively, the 4½" model (in black) is now identical to the 4½" Jet with the exception of the ratchet lever as opposed to the ratchet knob.
Component parts are nickel-silver and the pin itself is stainless steel. The reel-foot assembly is brass and chrome-plated.
Line Guides / Guards
These are not offered by us as an option.

Prices
Following a neccesary review of material (especially nickel-silver) and manufacturing costs in early 2014 there had to be an increase the price of the reels, although it is felt that they still represent good value in today's market. It has found to be not (currently) economically viable to continue manufacture of the less popular natural (anodised) reels, so this option has been discontinued (for the forseeable future).
The Fred Crouch Jet
The "Fred Crouch Jet" aerial (replica) centrepin - with rear ratchet knob
4½" diameter, ratchet (knob on rear plate) and drag, in black (anodised)
Available in narrow or wide drum.
The Fred Crouch Trupepin Trotter Range
The Fred Crouch "Truepin Trotter" Centrepin - 3¾"
3¾" diameter, ratchet lever on rim, but with no drag, in black (anodised).
Reels in natural (anodised) finish are NOT going to be available for the forseeable future
Available in narrow or wide drum.
